Inside look at BlackBerry PlayBook

Inside look at BlackBerry PlayBook

While there’s a debate going on about the future of BlackBerry as whole and their only tablet Playbook in particular, I decided to tear open my playbook to see what’s inside. Well, a few things that were interesting are listed below:

  • More than 75% of the device was stuffed with a huge battery
  • Only thing that is noticeably visible other than the battery is the motherboard.
  • Both of these items are lying above an LCD.
  • There are only a few wires and connectors and rest is all clean hardware with minimum connectivity

Here are a few photos of the Playbook from inside.

BlackBerry Storm Disintegrated – How does it look from inside

I got a chance to open a BlackBerry Storm that I was trying to fix and eventually I failed to do so :)

Nokia 5530 supports 16 GB Micro SD card

This post is an official confirmation that Nokia’s touchscreen phone 5530 ExpressMusic supports 16GB Micro SD cards. I have this SanDisk’s 16GB card and it works great in my phone. See photo below:

So if you are planning to buy a new Nokia touch-screen phone that’s S60 3rd edition like my Nokia 5530, you can always get a memory upgrade for a lot of stuff that you can do with this device. Memory and bandwidth are never enough for me :)

All new BlackBerry web-kit browser – Video

I’m waiting for this browser to be out soon. Though BlackBerry browsers have grown significantly decent in terms of performance and capability, web-kit browser show in this video is a big leap both in terms of performance and capability. Obviously RIM has a tough competition out there :)
