Processor Comparison – Part 8 of 16
Core 2 Quad and Core i5 are both quad core processors, that is, four cores in one processor chip. This necessarily means, they can run four different processes at the same time. Both of them can run four threads at the same time too. Whats the difference then? The difference is somewhere else. The difference is Turbo Boost technology. Core 2 Quad does not have Turbo Boost Technology, while Intel Core 5 has Turbo Boost enabled.

Terrific work! This is the type of information that should be shared around the web. Shame on the search engines for not positioning this post higher!

Dude!
There is a bluder in ur blog. i5 has only 2 cores as per intel website. Read this:
http://ark.intel.com/Compare.aspx?ids=37006,49022,47341,
Thanks for pointing that out.
At the time of writing this article, there were no dual core i5s out there as per my knowledge.
Today, it depends which i5 you are looking at. For example i5-750 has 4 cores while your example had 2 cores in i5.
You have been misinformed. The i5 is, according to Intel’s website (http://ark.intel.com/products/53450/Intel-Core-i5-2430M-Processor-(3M-Cache-2_40-GHz), a dual core processor. Now, it has a quad thread, but not a quad core. And many people are confused abouyt the fact that a quad thread does not double your core’s, it does not.
